Ali Shoker

Prof. Ali Shoker is a Research Associate Professor at KAUST, leading the Cyber Security and Resilience by Design (CyberSaR) lab. His mission is to redefine how secure, trustworthy, and resilient digital ecosystems are built combining rigorous research, practical innovation, and human-centric impact. He is actively contributing with the public and private sector to build a leading R&I cybersecurity ecosystem in KSA.
Prof. Shoker is a co-founder of two prominent research centers RC3@KAUST and VORTEX@Capgemini advancing cyber-secure, intelligent, and distributed systems. His current CyberSaR lab is driving applied projects across cutting-edge domains and industry such as AI-driven cyber defense and SOC tools, satellite-based trust frameworks, secure autonomous systems, quantum-safe networking, and fraud detection in critical infrastructures.
Prior to KAUST, Prof. Shoker held research positions at INESC TEC, INSA de Lyon, EPFL, and IRIT, and VORTEX CoLAB (Capgemini Group).
A strong advocate for ethics, integrity, and leadership in research, he champions sustainable scientific development with humans as the prime asset of innovation.
